Olympics 2022 and 2024 on Free TV
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) have announced tha all TV and multi-platform broadcast rights in Europe for the four Olympic Games in the 2018–2024 period have been awarded to Eurosport. The agreement covers the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018, and the Games of the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020, as well as the Olympic Games in 2022 and 2024, the host cities of which have yet to be elected.
Sport1 – Free-to-air sport channel in Germany
Sport1 is a privately owned commercial German television channel and broadcasts from the Astra 1H, 1M, 3A 19.2°E satellite position as a FTA (free-to-air) channel and is uplinked by SES Platform Services.
Sport1 is main source for FTA sport on TV in Germany and with constantly bidding for new sport rights they are trying to concurate the other Pay-TV broadcasters.
Sport 1 has acquired a three-year package of UEFA European League TV rights starting in season 2015/2016. Sport1 will cover one game of Europa League per week live on TV, as a live stream on sport1.de and on its digital sports radio. Sport 1 also covers 2. Bundesliga match Mondays and a lot of top friendly matches during sommer and winter pause.
Sport 1 covers all main handball events in Germany except Velux EHF Champions League, which is provided by Sky Germany. Sport 1 TV rights include: Handball Bundesliga, DHB-Pokal, All Star Game and Supercup, Germany national team matches and both World Men’s and Women’s Handball Championships.
Sport 1 is german’s leading basketball TV broadcaster. Their basketball TV rights include: Beko BBL Bundesliga (1 match per week), Euroleague and FIBA World Men’s and Women’s Championship.
Sport 1 has also exclusive TV rights for: Rugby Six Nations, CEV Champions League. Together with other broadcasters Sport 1 also covers: World Rally Championship, DTM, Formula 3 Euroseries, Golf European Tour and some tennis World ATP tournaments.

ARD is a joint organisation of Germany’s regional public-service and world’s largest public broadcaster, with a budget of €6.3 billion and 23,000 employees. The main television channels of the ARD are the nationwide Das Erste and seven regional channels operated by the different regional broadcasting institutions. Together with ARD, ZDF covers FIFA World Cup through 2022, European Football Championships in 2016, Germany National Team friendly matches, Olympic Games 2016, America’s Cup, Winter sports, main world athletics events and and shows also UEFA Champions League Wednesday match as a free-to-air TV broadcasters.
ZDF has exlusive TV rights and covers Gerry Weber Open in Halle as a part of ATP World Series.
Servus TV is a TV station based in Wals-Siezenheim in the Austrian state of Salzburg. The station started terrestrial transmissions in Berlin in December 2011 and in Hamburg in June 2014. Servus TV is available via terrestrial transmission in Austria, southern Germany and in the German cities Berlin and Hamburg, as well as Europe-wide from the Astra 19.2°E satellite constellation.
Servus TV has exclusive TV rights for season 2015/2016 on German Hockey League (DEL) and covers Sundays night match live and free-to-air.
Prosieben Maxx and Sat 1 are a privately owned German television broadcasting stations, currently a part of ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group.
Prosieben Maxx and Sat 1 are both free-to-air channels and are available via Astra 19.2°E satellite position or on cable networks of: Kabel Deutschland, Unitymedia Kabel, Tele Columbus, Primacom and NetCologne.
Prosieben MAXX and Sat.1 will cover 50 matches live, and bring American football (NFL) live on free-to-air TV, online and on mobile devices in Germany.
