Sky Sports secured La Liga TV rights in UK

Sky Sports will remain the “home of Spanish football in UK” thanks to a new broadcasting deal announced today. Sky Sports has been showing Spanish football for almoust two decades, and it was very important to keep La Liga TV rights because there were rumours that BT Sport is ready to add it in their already big sport portfolio.

Sky Sports subscribers will be able to follow Real Madrid, Barcelona and the stars of Spanish football in more than 100 live matches a season. The deal also includes the final of the Copa del Rey, won last season by Barcelona aganist Athletic Bilbao.

The agreement means our viewers can enjoy the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale and Neymar week in, week out throughout the football season. Add to that the ‘El Clasico’ clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the league and Sky Sports viewers are sure to see some of the best football moments throughout the season. We’re proud to take our partnership with La Liga into its 20th year and remain the home of Spanish football for another three years.

Best of Spanish football will be available to Sky Sports subscribers wherever they are on mobile, laptop and selected tablets via Sky Go. Non-subscribers can also see matches without a contract through online streaming service NOW TV. If you are interested only in big matches like El Clasico or last matches of season in battle for Spanish title by purchasing a Sky Sports Day Pass for £6.99 or Sky Sports Week Pass for £10.99, fans can enjoy access to all seven Sky Sports channels and watch on a TV with a NOW TV Box or on a range of devices.

Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are available as a premium package on top of the basic Sky package. These channels are also available as a premium on nearly every satellite, cable and IPTV broadcasting system in the UK and Ireland. For satellite viewers, Sky Sports channels and La Liga are available via Astra 2A 28.2E satellite position.
