German telecommunications company, Deutsche Telekom, has won the rights for the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), the top division of the ice hockey in the country.
Deutsche Telekom will cover every match in next fuor seasons on their Entertain IPTV sevice, PCs, Tablets and smarthphones. Together with transmission rights, Deutsche Telekom has also won all media and advertisement rights.
This season, Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) was covered in germany and Austria by free to air broadcaster Servus TV and Laola TV as IPTV. Servus TV covers ussualy Sunday afternoon matches and those have fixed termin in 17:45 (Berlin time)
Deutsche Telekom considers also to share some matches with other free to air broadcasters.
Considering past experience and the fact that Servus TV is owned by Red Bull Gmbh who leads EHC Red Bull München, it is almoust sure that they will continue to broadcast Sunday matches.
Other free to air broadcasters haven’t show interest to buy DEL TV rights. Sport 1, owned by Constantin Medien, is mentioned often as apotential buyer.
Servus TV Germany and Austria are both available as free-to-air broadcasters via Astra 19.2 satellite position on frequency12663 H with symbol rate 22000 and FEC correction 2/3.
Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL)
The Deutsche Eishockey Liga is a German professional ice hockey league that was founded in 1994. It was formed as a replacement for the Ice hockey Bundesliga and became the new top-tier league in Germany as a result.
Unlike the old Bundesliga, the DEL is not under the administration of the German Ice Hockey Federation.
