Former world number one Andy Murray, five times a runner-up in Melbourne, is playing in Australia under his protected ranking of world number two, which is used to help players who have suffered long-term in injuries, but without being seeded faces a tough draw.

Eurosport has held the UK’s Australian Open rights for several years and has previously sublicensed the semi-finals and finals to the BBC. The BBC will retain highlights, but the latest development means the end of its live coverage of grand slam tennis other than Wimbledon.

"Eurosport offers more Grand Slam tennis coverage than any other broadcaster in the UK and we are proud to be adding this tournament exclusively live to our strong line-up, which already includes full coverage of the French Open, the LTA grass court season and the Davis Cup,” said Susanna Dinnage for eurosport.co.uk, Managing Director of Discovery Networks UK & Ireland.

Eurosport’s coverage of the Australian Open will start at midnight on Sunday 13th January and feature LIVE coverage across Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, with Eurosport 1 dedicated solely to the Australian Open for the duration of the tournament.

The tournament will also be available for German Tennis fans via Eurosport and online via the Eurosport Player, which will provide comprehensive coverage of the Australian Open with LIVE feeds from all 16 match courts for the first time.

Eurosport is generally available in basic cable and satellite television package. In Germany, Eurosport operates as FTA (free-to-air) channel on Astra 19.2E° satellite position.

Manchester City vs Liverpool on live stream and TV: Where to watch the Premier League highlight

Manchester City vs Liverpool on live stream and TV: Where to watch the Premier League highlight

  • Manchester City vs Liverpool takes place on January 3, 2018 at 8pm (GMT)  / 9pm (CET)
  • The match between the two powerhouses of the Premier League could be indicatory for the title race
  • Liverpool didn’t lose any of their last four matches against ManCity
  • Broadcasters: Sky Sports (UK) and DAZN (Germany)

Manchester City vs Liverpool – an early highlight

The new Premier League year starts with a bang! On January 3, 2018 the most successful English clubs of 2018 meet each other in a clash that could be indicatory for this season’s title race. When current champions Manchester City and reinvigorated Liverpool FC compete at the Etihad there will be a lot of stories to be told.

Thus it will be the duel between two of the most lethal striker trios in the world. Manchester City forwards Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sané and Sergio Agüero as well as Reds strikers Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino give every defender bad dreams. Especially when they are assisted by David and Bernardo Silva or Fabinho and James Milner. There is no doubt: The world-class players on each side will make this match spectacular.

Guardiola’s bogey opponents

But not only the players on the pitch represent the best football has to offer. The two managers on the sidelines, Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp, also rank among the best of their kind. The Spaniard and the German already met each other 15 times in their careers with their respective teams. The statistics speak in favor of Klopp, with the former Borussia Dortmund manager winning eight matches against Guardiola (while losing five matches and drawing two times). Apparently Klopp isn’t exactly Guardiola’s favorite opponent. This also applies to Liverpool FC. The Reds are one of only two teams that Guardiola has a negative record against in his managerial career (the other one being Wigan Athletic which Guardiola only met once and lost).

This leaning can also be seen in the statistic of the last games between Manchester City and Liverpool FC. City weren’t able to win any of their last 4 games against Liverpool (1 draw, 3 loses) including their painful elimination in last season’s Champions League quarter-final. Yet, Manchester City will love to remember their last Premier League home match against Liverpool which ended 5-0 in favor of the Skyblues.

Where to watch Manchester City vs Liverpool on live stream and TV
