Austrian public-service broadcaster ORF has secured a three-season extension to its rights deal for the Formula One championship.

The new contract will run across the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Formula One seasons and reportedly comes at a reduced cost down to 10K.

ORF’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current 2016 campaign and it had broadcaster management maintained that a new contract must represent better value. Amid declining interest in Formula One, German free-to-air broadcaster also negotiated down the price.
