Sky will cover the handball Bundeslia throughout Germany, airing four live games per week together with highlights on its free-to-air Sky Sports News HD channel.
Sport 1 held the entire TV rights to the best handball league in the world, but have lost against the cooperation of Sky, ARD and ZDF. IPTV, Web and mobile rights are also included in this deal.
The agreement, which started with the start of the handball season 2017/2018, also includes free-to-air cover of 12 league games and DHB Cup Final by ARD, while ZDF will be allowed to show highlights during news and sport shows.Until now, no financial details were released.
