Channel 5, the commercial broadcaster from UK, will cover five Australian Big Bash League live matches including the final match on 28th of january. This Deal with the BT Sport is the return of live criket to UK terrestrial TV for the first time since 2005. The past two seasons of the Australian Big Bash League were covered by Sky Sports.

BT Sport, which will cover the 2017-2018 Ashes, has the rights for all 35 games but has made a deal with Channel 5, and transfered the a part of the live matches together with final highlights.

 First live match on Channel5 will be on the Boxing Day, when the Hurricances face Melboune Stars.
